Cupar has currently formed a new group of the U3A. Our open meetings will be at 2.30pm in the Community Lounge, St Columba's Primary School, North Union Street, Cupar (map) when we will be accepting new membership. We hope you will come along and find out more. Looking forward to seeing you.
Why are we called U3A?
A U3A is a university in the original sense of the word: a collective of people devoted to learning, with members not students, all of whom are in their Third Age.
Who can join U3A?
Anyone in their Third Age can join U3A and this includes people who are working part time. No qualifications are required and none are given. There is no lower age limit for membership.
How are U3A organised?
The U3A's are democratic, self-funded, self managed organisations which exist to provide education and leisure activities for men and women. They draw upon the knowledge, experience and skills of their members to organise interest groups in accordance with the wishes of their members. Between them, the U3A's offer over 300 subjects in such diverse fields as: art, foreign languages, music history, walking, life sciences, literature, poetry, gardening, philosophy, crafts, field studies, archaeology astronomy and computing. The focus being on the local groups wishes.
